Sigma Iota Epsilon is an honorary and professional fraternity for management and business administration majors. Its purpose is to recognize scholastic excellence and to promote cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management. An initiation ceremony is held every semester, which includes a guest speaker discussing a current topic in the management field. Undergraduates must have a GPA of at least 3.2 and graduates must have a GPA of at least 3.6 in order to join.

The Society for Human Resource Management is the world's largest professional society devoted to HRM. The student chapter works with the local SHRM chapter to educate, inform, and provide networking opportunities for their active members. Illinois State student membership in SHRM includes a subscription to HR Magazine, to HR News, and membership in the Bloomington-Normal Human Resource Council. The local chapter provides speakers, socials, community involvement, and other activities that prepare students for the professional working world. The ISU student chapter earned a superior merit award from the national office for the sixth consecutive year in 2007!
