Beta Alpha Psi (Accounting Honorary Society)

Beta Alpha Psi is a national scholastic honors fraternity for accounting, financial, and information systems professionals. Events hosted throughout the year includes professional presentations, an internship panel, and an initiation ceremony. Beta Alpha Psi also participates in a variety of social and service activities. Corporate recruiters realize the significance and benefit of Beta Alpha Psi and pursue active members for employment opportunities. Membership requires students to have a declared major in accounting, finance or information systems, completed a minimum of 60 hours, including at least one upper-level major course, and have both a cumulative and major grade point average of 3.0/4.0. Students are eligible for pledge status after completing 30 semester hours with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.

Business Information Systems Club

The Business Information Systems (BIS) Club consists of business students interested in enhancing their technological skills and preparing for future careers in the BIS field. The BIS club regularly conducts meetings, hosts professional events and participates in community and fundraising activities. This club has always had a great turnout of professionals at their events. An annual banquet is held where faculty and professionals gather to meet and discuss BIS issues with students. Great networking and leadership opportunities are available.

Student Accounting Society

The Student Accounting Society is open to all accounting majors. It provides students with the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities that will help them prepare for a professional accounting career. Speakers from public accounting firms and other prominent businesses will be on hand throughout the year to interact with students. Social get-togethers offer students the opportunity to talk with professors, accounting professionals, and other accounting students. The fall semester culminates with a banquet involving students, professors, and accounting professionals.
