Scholarships for Academic Excellence
The Katie Insurance School receives funds from private sources to award scholarships to academically talented students who are committed to a professional career in insurance and financial services.
Scholarship opportunities are available for high school graduates, community college graduates, and Illinois State University students with a major or minor in Insurance. Over 70 awards were made last year totalling $142,000.
Outstanding Senior Insurance Student
For a senior majoring in Insurance with a 3.3 GPA or higher and at least 90 hours completed; $400. Candidates are nominated by faculty from the Department of Finance, Insurance and Law each spring; the department awards committee reviews candidates credentials and selects the recipient.
Outstanding Junior Insurance Student
For a junior majoring in Insurance with a 3.3 GPA or higher and at least 62 hours completed, 20 hours of which must have been completed at Illinois State, $300; must have completed at least 6 hours in the FIL Department. Candidates are nominated by faculty from the Department of Finance, Insurance and Law each spring; the department awards committee reviews candidates credentials and selects the recipient.
