Doug's teaching interests lie in the areas of corporate and organizational strategy, organizational behavior, and management information systems. His research interests include the role of information systems in strategy formulation and implementation, corporate and competitive strategy, concept/causal mapping in strategy, and leadership in strategy development and implementation.
He is active with the U.S. Small Business Administration as an Internet counselor in areas of Business Management, Strategic Management and, Information Systems. He has presented numerous seminars in Information Systems Planning and sole-authored articles in the area Information Systems Planning for Small Business.
He is published in The Journal of Private Enterprise and has articles in the proceedings of professional organizations such as The Association of Private Enterprise Education, The Association for Business Simulation and Experiential Learning and The Small Business Director Association. Doug is a long-standing member of the Faculty Mentor Program, which serves to guide and counsel students in life and career choices, and he is the Faculty Mentor for the Business Lifestyle Floor.
