The International Business program continues to grow and change. We are proud of our accomplishments and hope that you are too! A lot may have changed since you were here; take a look.
- The IB major has about 160 students, and as in the past they are among the best in the College.
- This summer we will have five programs abroad. ESSCA in Angers, ESIDEC in Metz, France, Bristol, England, Queretaro, Mexico, and Chuo University, Japan. Details about the program are in the Study Abroad section.
- Our semester programs are gaining in popularity since most European universities now offer a number of business courses in English. Students can go to ESSCA, France; Paderborn, Germany; and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada.
- For several semesters, we have done teleconferences with Chuo University in Japan and City University in Hong Kong. This semester, ISU students will discuss the cultural influences on operations and policies at McDonald's in the U.S. and Hong Kong. The discussion will take place live in real time in November. You see, international business has come directly into the classroom.
- The IB Club, as always, is looking for speakers. Let us know if you are available to talk to our current students. They very much appreciate to hear from former ISU students who sat in the same rooms in the same chairs just a few years ago. Angie Nagel, an IB graduate from 1994, talked to two international business classes this fall. The students loved her and had lots of questions on how to prepare for an international career. Share your expertise and advice! If you come through Normal, please let me know.
