Profile:

Dr. Pope's research has been published in some of the leading academic insurance journals, e.g. the Journal of Risk and Insurance, the Journal of Insurance Regulation, and The Geneva Papers, among others. His research has traditionally focused on deregulation in the international insurance markets, with a special emphasis on the Japanese marketplace. His creativity in the classroom has been nationally recognized by the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) when it presented him with the 2003 Strickler Innovation in Instruction Award, presented annually by that organization.

In addition to his PhD and MS degrees in risk management, he also has an international MBA and has worked abroad in such places at Tokyo, Japan and Sydney, Australia. Other credentials include professional designations as an Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Commercial Property-Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
