Finance Internships - Student Information

Hours of Credit for an Internship and Tuition Cost

Three credit hours are awarded. In some special cases and with approval of the internship coordinator a student may gain up to six hours of credit, but only three of that six can count in the finance major.

Students will need to register for the internship hours and pay the required tuition and fees.

 Internship requirements

  • Minimum of 135 hours of on-the-job experience (9 hours x 15 weeks). However, if it is a summer internship, 200 hours is recommended.

  • This must be a new or on-going work experience. Students may not use a past work experience.

  • Internships may be paid or unpaid.

  • The internship must have finance content, be educational and be meaningful.

  • Course grading: written mid-term and final evaluations by the internship supervisor at the company; paper about the internship experience of grade.
