The State Farm Companies Foundation awarded a grant to the College of Business to advance innovative uses of technology in the College. Using a portion of that award, a small grant program has been established to support and encourage faculty as they gain new knowledge and seek to further integrate technology in their professional activities.
Faculty are particularly encouraged to request support for innovative uses of technology for instructional purposes. Examples of appropriate requests include support for software, small equipment additions, and developmental activities such as participation in seminars and workshops.
While most awards will be less than $1,000, larger requests will be considered if the expected benefits-particularly instructional applications-are significant. Faculty teams may also apply, thus enlarging the scope of a project.
All tenured and tenure track faculty in the College of Business are eligible to apply for these awards. Normally only one award per faculty member per year will be granted.
Complete Parts I - M of the Application Form - (interactive pdf) . Requests should then be submitted to department chairpersons for review and recommendation, which will be important in the evaluation of applications. The Chairperson will forward the completed form to the Associate Dean.
In October of the academic year following receipt of the grants, faculty funded through the program will be asked to submit a one page report on the outcomes and benefits to students resulting from the award.
