New FIL Chair Named

Koppenhaver received his B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Iowa. He was on the faculty at Southern Methodist University and served as a Senior Economist in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. At Iowa State, he served two terms as Associate Dean of the College of Business.

 

In 1999 Gary was recognized as the Best Professor at Iowa State by the Iowa State Daily. He has an extensive research record in areas including futures and options contracts, financial education, and financial intermediation and regulations, as well as significant professional service.

 

Gary and Kay Koppenhaver are native to the Midwest and have three children. Kay currently works as a Teaching Associate with primary grades in the Ames Community School District.  Brent holds an engineering degree from The University of Iowa and lives in North Liberty, Iowa.  Leslie is a graduating senior at The University of Iowa with double majors in Theatre and English.  Ross is a freshman and Journalism/Undecided major The University of Iowa.  The family enjoys camping in Michigan and the western US.
