This semester has been a very busy one, as the activities and accomplishments in this newsletter demonstrate. Our teams are engaged in numerous initiatives, and have developed or offered valuable programs. These include workshops on research and technology, and the Junior Experience that introduced many of our juniors to the College in August.

Creating relevant learning opportunities by connecting with our external partners is an important goal in the COB. Several outstanding speakers will share their expertise and experiences during Business Week 2007. The keynote address by Caterpillar CEO, Jim Owens is set for 2:00 p.m.on Tuesday, April 3rd in Braden Auditorium. Five highly successful COB graduates will present individual evening sessions at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5th in the College of Business Building. Please take a moment to review the real-world perspectives these speakers offer and how their presentations can extend concepts you will teach spring semester.
Alan Medina ’92 thinks of himself as a guy from Towanda, but one who is living his dream and enjoying a successful career in international business. Medina works in global marketing for Bunge Corporation in Mannheim Germany. During a recent visit to Central Illinois, he took time to discuss his experiences with the International Business Club and students in two classes focusing on international business taught by Iris Varner. Students need to hear what Medina has to say.
