Ryder and Ameriprise Financial Services are the two newest corporations to make formal commitments to the Professional Sales Institute. As Platinum Level Corporate Partners, each company contributed $5000 to further the work of the Professional Sales Institute.
According to Professional Sales Institute Director, Mike Williams (MKT), Ryder fills the gap in the transportation arena that PSI faculty members have been working to secure. At the Sales Career Fair in October Ryder representatives had the opportunity to talk with about 35 sales students, along with members of the sales faculty. “Thanks to the major relationship building activities undertaken by Mike Humphreys (MKT), Ryder’s Regional Director of Business to Business Sales spent a recent Friday morning on campus exploring the many mutual opportunities to become more actively involved with our education program and students,” said Williams. This work led to Ryder’s formal commitment to PSI.
Ameriprise, the financial planning division of American Express, was also a participant in the October Sales Career Fair where students made an indelible, positive impression. Williams reported their efforts to become a partner in the institute were championed by sales and MBA alumni, Meredith Tabbone ’01, M.B.A. ‘04. Although barely a month old, this particular relationship is already reaching beyond the Professional Sales Institute. The Ameriprise District Manager recently met with Edgar Norton (FIL) and Jim Jones (INS) to explore expanded opportunities for sales students through possible involvement with financial planning classes and certifications.
“I want to heartily congratulate our sales faculty members for the unbelievable job they are doing in and out of the classroom. They consistently give time and efforts far beyond expectations and the difference they make is tremendous,” added Williams.
