January 2006
Volume 1, Issue 1

Welcome to a new semester and a new year. It is hard to believe that we are celebrating our one-year anniversary in our new home. The transition has been a good one. We continue to welcome many prospective students and professional guests who are very impressed with this learning environment. Thank you for your efforts to maintain the quality and professionalism of the building.
This semester will be an interesting one as our teams continue to make progress on their agenda items. The Constituent Satisfaction Team has completed revisions in the Standards for Professional Behavior and Ethical Conduct. We are now working on appropriate ways to disseminate and publicize these important priorities and values for the college.
The Curriculum Team is discussing some very important issues, especially the ethics coverage in our curriculum and potential revisions that are needed. Under the leadership of those members and the HRD and Tech/PE teams, you will have some interesting opportunities this semester for gathering at “brown bag” lunches to exchange ideas and discuss new opportunities.
We will be distributing the EBI (Educational Benchmarking Initiative) survey to graduating students this semester, continuing our data collection and assessment efforts. This year is also the time in the cycle for the faculty satisfaction survey, so look for that in a web-based version later this semester, as well. Our teams and our leadership will look forward to your ideas and suggestions.
