Dr. Hulda Black
Marketing Department

Dr. Hulda Black

 

After recently earning her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Kentucky, Hulda Black is now teaching Redbirds the Foundations of IMC and Buyer Behavior. While working on her Ph.D., Hulda published articles in the Journal of Service Research and the Journal of Travel and Tourism Marketing.  Her research interests focus on the network drivers of customer-to-customer social support within a service setting.

She also investigates the impact of customer-to-customer social support on firm-level outcomes as well as individual-level outcomes. Outside of work, Hulda enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband, Kyle, and their two boys, J.W. (19 months) and Titus (4 months).  They especially enjoy running, cycling and strength training. 

 



Dr. Avimanyu Datta
Management and Quantitative Methods Department

Dr. Avimanyu Datta

 

Avi Datta’s research revolves around entrepreneurial activities surrounding sourcing and commercialization of radical innovations, especially in the IT and Hi-tech sectors. He also investigates the relations between social networks and social entrepreneurship.

Avi’s work has appeared in numerous journals, including: Information Systems Research (ISR), Communications of Association of Information Systems (CAIS), Journal of Cases in Information Technology (JCIT), Journal of Management & Strategy, Journal of Virtual Communities and Social Networks (JVCSN), Technology & Investment, International Journal of Strategic Information Technology and Applications (IJSITA), International Journal of Innovation in Digital Economy (IJIDE). Avi earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Washington State University, and is now teaching Seminar in Management: Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and Organizational Strategy at Illinois State.




Dr. Tamra Davis
Marketing Department.

Dr. Tamra Davis

Tamra Davis published five articles during 2010 covering her research interests of assessing online learning readiness, use of peer evaluations, ethics in education, and active learning in a global classroom.Her articles were published in the following journals: Currents in Pharmacy Teaching and Learning, Wisconsin Business Education Journal, Cross-Cultural and International Business, and Education Business Education Forum.

Tamra received her Ph.D. in Education from Oklahoma State University, and is now teaching Advanced Microcomputer Applications and Consumer Decision Making in the business teacher education program. Davis is also the international president for la Societe Internationale pour l’Enseignement Commercial and will be supervising business teacher education student teachers at Illinois State.

 



Dr. Dalia Marciukaityte
Finance, Insurance and Law Department

Dr. Dalia Marciukaityle

 

After earning a Ph.D. in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Dr. Dalia Marciukaityte is now teaching Corporate Finance in Illinois State’s M.B.A. degree program and Financial Market Operations for undergraduates. 

Her academic experience includes appointments at Cleveland State University, Drexel University, and Louisiana Tech University. Her interests are in corporate capital structure, governance, and earnings management, as well as behavioral finance.

 

 

 

 



Dr. Art Martinez
Management and Quantitative Methods Department

Dr. Art Martinez

 

After spending several years working in the corporate arena for Intel and United Airlines, Art Martinez earned his Ph.D. in Management from Florida State University.

His main area of research interest is power in organizations, with particular reference to power differentials in dyadic interactions in organizations. Art is now teaching courses in Human Resources Management at Illinois State.

 

 

 



Dr. Barbara Ribbens
Management and Quantitative Methods Department

Dr. Barbara Ribbens

 

Barbara Ribbens focuses on active and virtual learning in her courses and has experience taking students abroad.  She has taught courses and seminars in Bolivia, Russia, the Netherlands, and Mexico. She does research in careers and sustainability, especially in the global context.

In addition to presentations at international, national and regional conferences, she has published in Career Development International, Academy of Management Journal, and Small Group Research. 

She has also authored book chapters in “Innovative Approaches to Global Sustainability,” “Organizations and the Sustainability Mosaic: Crafting Long-Term Ecological and Societal Solutions” and “Growing Pains: Environmental Management in Developing Countries".

Barbara earned her Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut and is teaching International Business courses at Illinois State, while also serving as the director of the International Business Institute. 



Dr. Christopher Tamm
Finance, Insurance and Law Department

Dr. Christopher Tamm

 

Christopher Tamm’s field of interest is in financial contracts, the bankruptcy process and corporate governance. After earning his Ph.D. in Finance in July 2010 from the University of Missouri, Columbia, he remained there as a visiting assistant professor teaching real estate and M.B.A. corporate finance. 

Christopher began teaching the capstone undergraduate finance course on advanced financial theory and practice at Illinois State this fall. Tamm previously worked as a financial consultant for FTI Consulting. A Pittsburgh native, he is a dedicated Steelers fan.

 

 



Dr. Elina Tang
Marketing Department

Dr. Elina Tang

 

With experiences at both a biotech instrument and a pharmaceutical company, Elina Tang is an experienced marketer. Her work has been published in Industrial Marketing Management and The International Journal of Media Management.

She received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Missouri and is teaching Sales Management and Marketing Research at Illinois State. Her research interests include sales management, market segmentation in business markets, innovation and market knowledge diffusion.
