This sequence is designed to provide students with information systems and technology skills and competencies as recommended by the International Federation of Accountants. Students will learn how to use information technology and evaluate information systems from both an internal auditor and external auditor perspective.
Faculty hold professional certifications in the information systems area and are housed in the Accounting Department. Most courses are taught by full-time professors, and classes are small so that professors can give each student personal attention. The job outlook for information systems personnel is strong, and the number of information systems positions is expected to increase faster than the average for all occupations for years to come.
Suggested plans of study are developed by academic advisors to show students what a typical semester by semester progression might look like for majors in the College of Business.
