This program is primarily oriented toward preparation for careers in professional accountancy and is designed to meet the formal requirements for a student to sit for the CPA examination.
The B.S./M.P.A. program offers two sequences: (1) Accountancy and Information Systems and (2) Professional Accountancy. The Accountancy and Information Systems sequence permits students to emphasize study of information systems related to accounting and the Professional Accountancy sequence permits students to advance their knowledge in traditional accounting topics such as taxation, auditing, financial accounting, managerial accounting, financial management and information systems.
The BS/MPA program is strongly recommended for students interested in a plan of study designed to integrate accounting technology, information systems, and eligibility to sit for the CPA examination.
Suggested plans of study are developed by academic advisors to show students what a typical semester by semester progression might look like for majors in the College of Business.
Checklists are created by academic advisors to show the academic requirements for each major in the College of Business. Checklists are listed by major and catalog year.
